Omaha police were investigating two cases that occurred Thursday afternoon and early Friday involving a stolen vehicle and a burglary:
— Friday, 2 a.m., North 62nd and Blondo Streets
Police said officers spotted a vehicle traveling south from the 60th and Maple Streets area and determined that it was stolen. Police stopped the vehicle at 62nd and Blondo, where the 21-year-old driver and a 21-year-old passenger were arrested. Police said they were booked on suspicion of theft by receiving stolen property worth more than $1,500.
— Thursday, 1:35 p.m., North 51st and Corby Streets
Police said officers were dispatched to a Corby Street location over a possible burglary in progress. The homeowner told police that he heard a window break in the back of his house and spotted a man outside the window. Officers found a 17-year-old runaway boy in the area.
Police said the teen was also being sought in connection with an earlier burglary Thursday and evidence from that burglary was recovered.
The boy was taken to the Douglas County Youth Center and he was booked on suspicion of burglary, attempted burglary and unlawful absence, police said.
