Omaha police responding to a ShotSpotter alert Monday night near North 27th and Fort Streets were flagged down by someone in a vehicle carrying the shooting victim.

Officers followed the car to Creighton University Medical Center-University Campus at 24th and Cuming Streets.

The shooting victim, 23-year-old Davonte Rose, then was transferred to the Nebraska Medical Center. His injury is not considered life-threatening, police said.

The shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m.

The ShotSpotter system monitors areas for gunshots and provides officers with a location of the shooting.

The investigation into Monday night's shooting is continuing. Anyone with information about the incident may contact Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP, at www.omahacrimestoppers.org or on the P3 Tips mobile app. Tips leading to the arrest of a shooting suspect are eligible for a $10,000 reward.
