A 28-year-old Omaha man was treated at the Nebraska Medical Center on Sunday after he was shot, police said.

Russell Tealer told officers he was walking near 28th Street and Crown Point Avenue about 3 a.m. when someone shot him, said Officer Jessica Swanson, a spokeswoman for the Omaha Police Department.

Tealer was released from the hospital Sunday after being treated.

It was the second time in four months that Tealer has been hit by gunfire.

Tealer also was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center with after being shot Sept. 19. He told police then that he was riding in a car with Joel Speed, 30, when they both were shot about 1 a.m. near 72nd Street and Military Avenue.

After that shooting, Speed drove to the parking lot of a nearby convenience store to summon help.
