An 8-year-old Omaha boy suffered burns to his legs when he came in contact with a power line while climbing a tree Friday.

The boy, Adam Weir, is expected to be OK, said Officer James Shade, a police spokesman.

Weir was climbing a tree near 93rd and Fort Streets about 7:25 p.m. when he brushed up against a power line, causing him to fall about 20 feet.

He was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

A condition report on the boy was not being released, a hospital spokesman said Saturday.
