NORTH PLATTE — A cooperative effort by multiple law enforcement agencies resulted in more than 60 drug-related arrests Tuesday in western and central Nebraska and northeast Colorado.

“We conducted a large sweep from central to western Nebraska,” said Joe Jeanette, law enforcement coordinator with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Omaha.

The yearlong operation resulted in the federal indictment of 63 people. U.S. Attorney Deborah Gilg said that details on the indictments and defendants will be provided Friday at a press conference in North Platte.

“This is an incredible effort involving nearly 30 law enforcement agencies,” Gilg said.

The joint operation, led by the FBI, included investigators from the Cooperative Operation for Drug Enforcement Drug Task Force, Western Nebraska Intelligence & Narcotics Group, the Central Nebraska Drug and Safe Streets Task Force and Colorado law enforcement authorities.
