A 42-year-old southwest Iowa man was arrested Wednesday after a short vehicle pursuit in Hamburg.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office said deputies attempted to stop a 2004 Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by the Hamburg man near Main and G Streets. The Sheriff’s Office said the pickup failed to yield to deputies and continued north on Main Street at a high rate of speed.

After a short pursuit, the Sheriff’s Office said, the vehicle stopped at a residence near Main and S Streets in Hamburg.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while under suspension, eluding arrest, failure to obey a stop sign, having an expired registration, failure to have valid insurance and child endangerment, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The man was being held at the Fremont County Jail, authorities said.
