A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after colliding with three vehicles and a house early Sunday in Council Bluffs.

Mark E. Wilke Jr. was hospitalized with minor injuries, according to Sgt. P.E. Norris of the Council Bluffs Police Department.

Following his release from a Council Bluffs hospital, Wilke will be booked into the Pottawattamie County Jail on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, being in possession of a stolen car and reckless driving.

Police were called to the intersection of 35th Street and Avenue A about 4:30 a.m. to investigate the incident, Norris said. Officers determined that Wilke, driving a car reported stolen from Treynor, Iowa, was traveling at a high rate of speed when he collided with a minivan driven by Terry Hanson.

No injuries to Hanson were reported.

Wilke allegedly continued on, hitting two parked cars before spinning out and crashing into a house at 3515 Avenue A.

The Council Bluffs building inspector was called to check on the “structural stability of the home,” he said.
