Three people were arrested early Wednesday at a west Omaha hotel in connection with a case that included a sport utility vehicle striking a police cruiser.

About 1:45 a.m., officers went to the Extended Stay America hotel just north of 90th Street and West Dodge Road, alerted to a wanted 19-year-old woman, police said.

Officers spotted friends of the woman in the hotel’s parking lot and attempted to stop their Ford SUV. The driver accelerated, police said, and as the SUV rounded a corner of the building, it collided with a police cruiser approaching from the south.

Police said the driver, a 30-year-old man, was taken into custody. Officers located a defaced firearm in the vehicle, police said, and it was determined that the SUV was stolen.

Officers said they located the woman, who was staying at the hotel, and found a stolen firearm in her room. The woman and a 29-year-old man connected with the case also were taken into custody.

Here is the status of the three arrested people:

» The 30-year-old man was booked on suspicion of theft by receiving more than $1,500, possession of a defaced firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, felony flight to avoid arrest and possession of a controlled substance.

» The 19-year-old woman was booked on suspicion of being a fugitive from justice, possession of a stolen firearm and a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

» The 29-year-old man was booked on suspicion of possession of a stolen firearm, felon in possession of a firearm and bail review.
