Iowa law enforcement officials are continuing to investigate a fatal shooting that occurred in Creston, Iowa, last week.

At 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, Creston police officers responded to a report of shots fired at a house in Creston. Inside the home, officers found 44-year-old Christy Hribal suffering from a gunshot wound. Hribal, who was visiting the home, was airlifted to a Des Moines hospital, where she later died.

Charles Keeton, 36, of Creston, was arrested at the scene and charged with being felon in possession of a firearm. No charges have yet been filed in Hribal’s death.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Creston Police Department are conducting the investigation.

Creston is nearly 100 miles east of Council Bluffs.
