A sudden fight led to a man stabbing Dylan Kenney to death south of downtown early Sunday, authorities said.

Caleb Bealer, 27, and Denzel Gaines, 26, were charged Thursday as accessories to the stabbing.

Ryan Jones-Kellogg, 30, is accused of stabbing Kenney multiple times. He is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder at the Douglas County Jail. He is expected to make his first court appearance Friday.

Prosecutor Anthony Clowe said video evidence showed that a fight broke out near 13th and Center Streets between the men, which led to Jones-Kellogg stabbing 25-year-old Kenney.

Bealer drove Gaines and Jones-Kellogg away from the fight, Clowe said. Omaha police later found bloodied clothing in Bealer’s closet.

Bealer’s attorney, William Eustice, said Bealer was cooperative with police and admitted to his “tangential participation … which had nothing to do with the homicide.”

Douglas County Judge Thomas Harmon ordered Bealer to be held on $150,000 bail.

Gaines was uncooperative with police officers, Clowe said, and lied to police until he was shown a video of the fight. He then made “some admissions” about his involvement, Clowe said.

Harmon ordered Gaines to be held on $250,000 bail.
