Chris Hickman

Omaha Burke's Chris Hickman is the nation’s No. 14 tight end, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Omaha Burke senior tight end Chris Hickman, the state’s top uncommitted recruit, will visit Nebraska next weekend when the Huskers host Colorado — the only confirmed official visit Hickman has scheduled.

“My teammate (Nick Henrich) is going down there and I think it will be a good game to go to,” he said.

Hickman made an unofficial visit to Nebraska on July 30.

The four-star prospect is the nation’s No. 14 tight end, according to 247Sports composite.

“I’ll get to see what they (Nebraska) are all about on game day,” he added.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Hickman blocked a field goal in the Bulldogs’ 31-14 win over Millard West on Friday night.

Hickman told The World-Herald on Aug. 3 that he’s focused on six schools and was working on setting up official visits to three — LSU, Mississippi and Oregon — but hasn’t scheduled those yet.

Iowa and Wisconsin also join Nebraska in the top group. He will have four official visits remaining for those schools.
