Charlie Easley

Lincoln Pius X's Charlie Easley averaged 17.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.9 steals per game across 26 games as a junior.

Lincoln Pius X guard Charlie Easley broke though, receiving his first Division I offer from The Citadel on July 28.

He holds Division II offers from UNK and Rockhurst (MO). Easley has also been in contact with Northwest Missouri State, Sioux Falls, Missouri Southern State, Emporia State and Southwest Minnesota State.

Easley had a strong junior campaign for the Thunderbolts, averaging 17.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.9 steals per game across 26 games. Easley’s strong suit is his shooting ability, averaging 41 percent from 3-point range in 2017-18.

At 6-foot-1, 170 pounds, Easley was often tasked with defending and rebounding against bigger and taller defenders for OSA Crusaders 17U. Easley proved that he was up to the task against other Division-I level prospects. He averaged 11.0 points and 4.2 rebounds per game while shooting 58 percent from the field and 43 percent from three.

Easley is being recruited mostly as a point guard, though naturally he is more of a shooting guard. The senior recognizes the size disadvantage he may have playing on the wing at the Division-I level, and is working on developing his skills as a lead guard

“One thing I’ll work on is dribbling under pressure and just getting a better handle for the ball, along with finishing at the rim,” Easley said.

Easley has set several goals for himself and Lincoln Pius X, but he put one above all else: “The main goal is to win a state championship.”

“For me, I’d like to improve on every aspect of my game. To be better than last year and to do whatever it takes for my team to win,” he said.

Easley has dealt with several lingering injuries throughout his high school career, but now feels like he is in a spot where he is finally healthy again.

“It feels good,” he said, “I can finally just get into a rhythm and continue to improve without any setbacks.”
