Javier Turner

Javier Turner averaged 10.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 13 games for Omaha Northwest last season.

Javier Turner committed to Wyoming on Wednesday, according to Omaha Northwest coach Donnie Johnson.

Turner becomes the seventh player from Nebraska in the 2019 class to sign with or commit to a Division I school. Turner plans to sign with the Cowboys on Thursday.

The 6-foot-11, 230-pound forward recently received a scholarship offer from Wyoming after the Cowboys saw him in an individual workout on April 12. He took an official visit there over the weekend.

Turner started his high school career at Omaha Benson, transferred to Omaha Central after his sophomore season and then transferred to Omaha Northwest for his senior year. He had to sit out for part of the season because of transfer rules, but he averaged 10.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 13 games for Northwest.

Turner played the first three weeks of the AAU season this spring for Team Factory.
