Lök Wur

Lök Wur averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds during his senior season at Papillion-La Vista South.

Former Papillion-La Vista South star Lok Wur committed to Oregon.

The 6-foot-9 forward announced his decision Sunday via Twitter during his official visit to Eugene.

“I felt very comfortable with the coaching staff, and there was no pressure,” Wur said. “I have a good opportunity to play right away with good preparation during the offseason.”

Wur averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds as a senior at Papio South last season. The long, versatile wing originally signed with Eastern Florida State, a junior college, but his recruitment changed earlier this month when he learned he was an NCAA academic qualifier.

He announced Tuesday a list of five finalists from 16 Division I scholarship offers. His finalists were Creighton, Hawaii, Oregon, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech.

Rather than extend the process by taking official visits to all five, he decided his first would be his last.

“I didn’t want to waste any time,” he said. “I want to get to work soon here in Eugene.”
