Former All-Nebraska, Papillion-La Vista standout Ed Chang withdraws commitment from Washington

Ed Chang was an All-Nebraska pick at Papillion-La Vista.

Former Papillion-La Vista standout Ed Chang announced Thursday he is no longer committed to Washington.

Chang had been pledged to the Huskies since July 2017 but didn't sign with the program during the first signing period in November. He said in a post on Twitter that he and his family "decided that it is in my best interest" to withdraw his commitment to Washington but will still consider UW as he reopens the recruiting process.

"(I want to) explore options that best fit me as a player and person," Chang said.

Chang left Nebraska before his senior year and moved to Seattle to attend Garfield High School, but he never played this past season. Chang was the No. 1-ranked player in the state of Nebraska before leaving, and he was a two-time All-Nebraska selection for the Monarchs.
