Amherst’s press finally crushed Elm Creek. Forcing nine fourth-quarter turnovers, and hitting just enough shots, the Broncos scored the final 10 points of the game to come way with a 47-45 victory over Elm Creek Thursday night.

Elm Creek freshman Claire Cornell banked in a 10-foot jump shot with six seconds left to give Elm Creek a 37-35 overtime victory over upset-minded Pleasanton in the semifinals of the Fort Kearny Conference Tournament.

Throughout the summer, The World-Herald will be previewing prep football season with a new class every week. This week, Class Eight Man-1 is featured, with a new story each day based on last season's final Top 10. Today are last season's final Nos. 5 to 10 teams.
