In Class D, Giltner and Axtell clinched team titles, and individually, Riverside's Alix Bloom took home championships in the 100 and 200 meter runs.
Kaycee Porter had 21 points, Jayden Sheridan had 19 and DeAndre Webster scored 17 in Walthill's 75-56 win over Axtell in the first round of the Class D-1 boys basketball tournament.

State berths taste sweeter after a district championship. That was the belief Axtell had heading into Thursday night’s D1-5 District final. As the No. 3 team in the Class D1 wild card standings, the Wildcats had all but locked up a state berth. Axtell coach Brad Nelson said he was originally worried about his team playing with that sense of urgency. The Wildcats’ two final practices, however, settled his concerns.
