NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — Lincoln High’s high-powered offense continued to hum Friday with a 54-14 rout over North Platte.

Links quarterback Cedric Case maintained his torrid pace through the air, tossing four touchdown passes. Now through five games, the junior has passed for 1,645 yards, 22 touchdowns and only one interception. Case entered Friday as the Class A leader in yardage and was second only to Bellevue West’s Joe Dolincheck in passing touchdowns.

Big plays hurt North Platte’s defense, which gave up four touchdowns of 50 or more yards.

“(Lincoln High) was even faster than they looked on film and it’s just tough to simulate that type of speed,” North Platte coach Bernie Madison said. “Our kids battled and gave good effort, but (Lincoln High) is the No. 7 team in the state for a reason.”
