Utah-based mortgage lender Academy Mortgage Corp. will establish a presence in Nebraska on Aug. 1 with its acquisition of First Mortgage Co. of Oklahoma.
Academy will pick up all three First Mortgage branches in Omaha and one in Lincoln, marking its first branch operations in the state. The company has branches in the Iowa cities of Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, where First Mortgage did not operate.
First Mortgage has more than 50 branches in 10 states, nearly all of which are in the western U.S.
Academy has over 260 branches in more than 30 states.
A statement from Academy described the transition of First Mortgage to Academy as occurring “over the upcoming weeks.”
