Did your first 2013 paycheck seem a little skimpy?

The temporary two-year cut in Social Security withholding has expired, so the tax reverted to 6.2 percent of your salary from the lower 4.2 percent we've enjoyed since 2011.

That's a difference of about $1,000 for the average household this year.

Will you have go to back to using store-brand diapers? Put less in your retirement fund?
