TD Ameritrade on Wednesday reported fiscal first-quarter profit that beat forecasts.

The Omaha-based employer of 2,000 people, the largest online stock broker, said net income was $212 million, little-changed from a year earlier. That works out to 39 cents a share, level from a year earlier.

The earnings per-share beat the average Wall Street analyst estimate of 36 cents a share.
