The fast-growing Elkhorn area could be the location of Omaha’s next Hy-Vee.

A Hy-Vee supermarket and a separate Hy-Vee gas station are included on real estate brokers’ plans for the Indian Creek development. It’s at the northeast corner of 204th Street and West Maple Road, adjacent to the Indian Creek golf course north of downtown Elkhorn.

Hy-Vee confirmed it owns two parcels of land in the development. A spokeswoman for the West Des Moines company said Hy-Vee has not announced its plans for the site.

Hy-Vee Chief Executive Officer Randy Edeker told The World-Herald in 2016 that the company had plans to open two more full-service supermarkets in the Omaha area by about 2020.

Other businesses in the Indian Creek development have opened, including First National Bank, Charter West Bank, Walgreens, T-Mobile and an Anytime Fitness.

But several other plots are empty. A site plan shows those could include a medical clinic and a credit union.

Brokers representing the property for Investors Realty didn’t return messages from The World-Herald.
