Papillion has been named the best community in Nebraska to raise kids in Bloomberg Businessweek's 2013 ranking.

Ankeny earned the top honor among Iowa communities.

The rankings take into account "public school performance, safety, housing costs, commute time, poverty, adults' educational attainment, share of households with children, and diversity," as well as job market, income and unemployment data, according to the the publication's website.

"Our strong schools deserve a ton of credit for the work they do," Papillion Mayor David Black said in a press release. "This community is blessed with great civic organizations, foundations, businesses and residents that truly care about families and kids."

Last fall, Papillion was named the country's top small town by Liveability.com.

Businessweek previously chose Arlington (2012) and Tilden (2011) as Nebraska's best communities to raise children.
