Memorial Stadium

Memorial Stadium has been sold out for every Husker football game since 1962.

This fall, parents who are avid Husker fans will have one less thing to worry about on game day — child care.

The Lincoln Children’s Museum will offer child care during Husker games. Parents can drop their children off 90 minutes before kickoff and pick them up one hour past the end of the game.

Lindsay Bartlett, director of community and learning at the museum, said its staff saw a need for families in the community during football games and “figured we would be the perfect place for kiddos to hang out while their parents are in the stadium.”

This is the second year the museum is offering the program.

The play dates are for children ages 3 through 12. Kids will receive a snack, have playtime on the museum floor and participate in game day activities.

“Kids are going to have just as much fun as their parents during the games now,” Bartlett said.

Museum play dates are offered for the following games:

  • Aug. 31 against South Alabama
  • Sept. 14 against Northern Illinois
  • Sept. 28 against Ohio State
  • Oct. 5 against Northwestern
  • Oct. 26 against Indiana
  • Nov. 16 against Wisconsin
  • Nov. 29 against Iowa

Cost is $35 per child for members and $45 per child for nonmembers. Registration is limited, but there are still spots available on the museum’s website, www.lincolnchildrensmuseum.org.
