Halloween is almost here! It’s time to start planning those costumes. Here are 10 creative, character, do-it-yourself options for boys and girls alike.

The great thing about these costumes is that most of the items can be used long after Halloween (no trick!).

1. Where’s Waldo

What you’ll need:

• Red and white striped shirt

• Blue jeans

• Red and white striped (or solid red) beanie hat

• Black glasses

• White tennis shoes or brown boots

2. Harry Potter or Hermione Granger

What you’ll need:

• White button-up shirt

• Gray sweater

• Maroon and gold tie

• Black pants or a black skirt

• Wand

• Round glasses (for Harry)

• Brown eye liner or red lip liner for scar (for Harry)

3. Marty McFly from “Back to the Future”

What you’ll need:

• Plaid button-up shirt (blue and white)

• Blue jeans

• Red or orange vest

• A watch

• Sunglasses

4. Holly Golightly from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”

What you’ll need:

• Black dress

• Long black gloves

• Fake pearls (necklace and bracelet)

• Tiara

• Black shoes

• Accessorize with black sunglasses, a blue gift bag and a croissant for fun

5. Dwight Schrute from “The Office”

What you’ll need:

• Yellow button-up shirt

• Brown pants

• Brown shoes

• Brown tie

• Glasses

• Name tag

6. Sheldon Cooper from “The Big Bang Theory”

What you’ll need:

• Khaki pants

• White long-sleeved shirt

• A Flash shirt (or another super hero)

• Chuck Taylors (or another plain color shoe)

• Shoulder bag

• Hand sanitizer

7. Rosie the Riveter

What you’ll need:

• Blue button-up shirt

• Blue jeans

• White tennis shoes, red tennis shoes or black boots

• Red bandanna

• Red lipstick

8. Mario or Luigi

What you’ll need:

• Red or green shirt

• Denim overalls

• A red or green baseball hat

• Black eye liner or face paint for the mustache

9. Lego Emmet from “The Lego Movie”

What you’ll need:

• Blue button-up shirt

• Blue jeans

• Hard hat

• Orange construction vest

• A soda box, peanut butter lid and red duct tape to make “the piece of resistance”

• Name tag

10. Pinkalicious

What you’ll need:
