CAMP HIGH HOPES

Campers will enjoy everything from canoeing and archery to nature education. These therapeutic recreation activities provide children who have intellectual and physical disabilities the opportunity to have fun in a safe environment.

When: June 16-Aug. 9; day camps run 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; overnight camps run from Sunday at 3 p.m. to Friday at 1 p.m.

Who: Age 5 to adults with any disability

CAROL JOY HOLLING

For three days, campers will have the opportunity to make new friends while enjoying nature. With retreat-style bedrooms and large spaces, campers are invited to take part in a joyful, Christian community and have a good time.

Where: Camp Carol Joy Holling, Ashland

Who: Youth ages 13-21; adults 21 and older

HIS KIDS CAMP

What do s’mores, wagon rides, songs around the campfire, swimming, archery, dancing, zooming down the water slide, canoeing, kayaking and growing in your faith in Jesus have in common? This year’s His Kids Camp, of course.

Where: Camp Luther, Schuyler, Nebraska

Who: Ages 12 and older

CAMP EASTERSEALS NEBRASKA

Fun, friendship and play are the major themes for this camp that welcomes anyone age 5 to 100 of any ability. With an on-site registered nurse and a large staff, campers and caretakers alike can simply relax and enjoy.

When: June-July, various themes and age groups; overnight camps, 4 p.m. to 10 a.m.; day camps, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Boy Scouts Camp Eagle, Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska

Who: Ages 5-100 with any disability

CAMP MUNROE

Field trips, anyone? This six-week day camp is offered to kids with developmental disabilities, who will participate in activities such as art, cooking, gardening and weekly field trips.

When: Late June to early August, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday

Where: Munroe-Meyer Institute, University of Nebraska Medical Center

Who: Ages 3-21 with developmental disabilities
