Happy weekend! It’s April (can you believe it?).
Here are a few reasons to get out of the house:
– Saturday is the Millard West Craft Fair (180th and Q Streets) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Plenty of local crafters will have items for sale and on display. Bring cash.
– The Omaha Symphony presents “Lemony Snicket’s The Composer is Dead” Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Holland Center. This production of the musical murder mystery is designed for families. More info here.
– Colorful Creature Day at Morrill Hall in Lincoln is Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The University of Nebraska State Museum, near 14th and Vine Streets on the UNL campus, is planning the family-friendly community event with live animals and hands-on art activities. More info here.
– Friends of the Omaha Public Library are holding a spring book sale through Sunday at the Swanson Library, 90th Street and West Dodge Road. Sale hours: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

I’m on vacation all next week, April 4-8. We’ll have guest posts filling this spot. See you Monday, April 11!
