Levi Scheppers will be the new chief executive officer of Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital starting Monday.

Scheppers, 37, most recently worked for Nebraska Medicine, where he served as chief administrative officer. Among his responsibilities was developing the financial plan for the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center. He also served as a board member for Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital.

Dr. Charles Burt, president and chairman of the board, said Scheppers “is a big thinker and has a tremendous financial background that will bode well for the future direction of the hospital.”

The hospital has been successful in its first 11 years of operation and is “positioned well from both a quality and an affordability perspective,” Scheppers said.

Scheppers replaces Tom Macy, CEO since October 2005. Macy now is vice president of operations for clinical programs at Nebraska Medicine.

Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital, 2808 S. 143rd Plaza, is a partnership between Nebraska Medicine and 28 orthopedic surgeons.
