Lotus House of Yoga is opening its fifth studio this summer. It will offer yoga, cycling and barre classes near 204th and Pacific Streets.

Lotus House of Yoga is opening its fifth location — its first in west Omaha.

The new location, near 204th and Pacific Streets, will open in late June. It has been in the works for over a year, said owner Mary Clare Sweet. The studio wanted to serve its student population that hails from the Elkhorn and Gretna areas.

“We’re over-the-moon excited,” Sweet said.

The studio’s other Omaha locations are in Aksarben Village, near 67th and Center Streets, and One Pacific Place, near 103rd and Pacific Streets. There are two studios in Lincoln.

Instructors often hear from yogis who make the 30-plus minute drive to those locations from their west Omaha homes, Sweet said.

In addition to yoga, the new location will offer cycling and barre classes. The studio’s yoga room will be able to hold about 50 mats and the cycling room will house 30 bikes. Sweet expects to start offering between 12 and 15 classes a day.

They’ll also introduce teen yoga classes, in part because of the studio’s close proximity to Elkhorn South High School. Dogs will get in on the yoga action at the new digs, too, with regular dog yoga classes.

Memberships are available online. New student specials are available until the new location opens.

Sweet said the new spot shouldn’t impact the other studios in terms of attendance.

“We’re not going anywhere,” she said. “We know the addition of this studio will only strengthen our other studios.”
