It’s about more than just bragging rights for Sarah Stewart.

The Omaha blogger was thrilled to be named the winner of the 2019 FrogTape Paintover Challenge and to earn $10,000 for the Orphan Grain Train.

“It was awesome,’’ she said. “My husband and I have supported this organization for years, and it is so rewarding to be able to continue contributing to their cause in such an impactful way.”

She’ll also do media interviews in a whirlwind trip to New York City in October. More than 32,000 votes were received.

During the challenge, five home décor bloggers redesigned a room in their home using only paint, painter’s tape, a $1,000 budget and inspiration from trends identified by celebrity interior designer Taniya Nayak. To see all five blogger makeovers, go to FrogTape.com/PaintoverChallenge.

Stewart, whose blog is called Life on Virginia Street, was assigned natural and organic. She incorporated a beachy vibe into her master bedroom, using warm, earthy hues, as well as organic textures such as cane, jute and wood.

“I love how the space turned out,’’ she said. “It's much more reflective of our personality and our decorating style.’’

Stewart said she learned a lot about time management during the three-week challenge. Now, she’s going to take some time off. She and husband Kurtis had just completed a redo of their kitchen before the master bedroom renovation.

“I'm taking another month or so before I dig into anything too major,’’ she said.
