Long Beach, Calif. — Nebraska dropped a pair of matches Friday at the Belmont Shore Challenge, losing 3-2 to Colorado Mesa and 4-1 to Long Beach State.

Nicklin Hames and Lauren Stivrins opened the match against Colorado Mesa with a win as the No. 1 team. Madi Kubik and Mari Kurkova followed with a victory at No. 3, but the Huskers dropped the next three matches.

Hayley Densberger and Anezka Szabo rallied for a 19-21, 21-18, 18-16 win at No. 4 for Nebraska’s only victory against Long Beach State.

The Huskers continue the tournament Saturday with matches against Stanford and Washington.
