South Alabama's defense spoke volumes, and disrupted Adrian Martinez and the Husker offense

Not only did the Jaguars defense keep the Huskers under 100 yards rushing (98), the passing game didn’t post overly impressive numbers. Adrian Martinez finished with six net rushing yards on 13 carries.

The Jaguars had five turnovers — three interceptions and two lost fumbles. “It’s still a game of turnovers and give them credit,” South Alabama coach Steve Campbell said. “They did a great job of creating them and capitalizing on it. That’s the mark of a good football team.”
