Jeff Kinney

Jeff Kinney scored on this touchdown during Nebraska’s decisive 44-14 victory at Oklahoma in 1969. That win helped coach Bob Devaney’s Huskers finish the season 9-2 and propelled them to national championships the following two seasons.

Turner Gill

Quarterback Turner Gill guided Tom Osborne’s option offense during the early 1980s, when Nebraska was a national championship contender each season. The Huskers lost to national champions Clemson in 1981, Penn State in 1982 and Miami in 1983.

1994 Orange Bowl

The Huskers of the 1990s added more overall team speed to their defense, including Trev Alberts and Donta Jones, pictured, who chased Florida State quarterback Charlie Ward during the 1994 Orange Bowl. An 18-point underdog in that bowl, NU wasn’t able to pull off the upset but did claim national titles the next two seasons.
