LINCOLN — The 17th-ranked Nebraska women's tennis team opened its season Saturday with a 7-0 sweep of Eastern Michigan.

The Huskers didn't drop a set in singles play. Patricia Veresova team with Mary Weatherholt to win 8-3 at No. 1 doubles, then won her No. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-0.

NU's next match is Jan. 22 against in-state rival Creighton.
