LINCOLN — Nebraska signed five soccer players they expect to make an immediate impact this fall.

The commits include midfielder Meg Brandt of Ankeny, goalkeeper Mayte Corral of Los Gatos, California, forward Elyse Huber of Sioux City East, defender Sinclaire Miramontez of Lenexa, Kansas and midfielder-forward Brenna Ochoa of Millard West.

“When you add in Aubrei Corder to this group (enrolled this semester) and take into account that current players Savanah Uveges, Emilee Cincotta and Lindsay Hargreaves will also be in their first year of eligibility for the 2016 season, this class is very strong,” coach John Walker said.

The Huskers went 8-7-2 last fall.
