CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Kiki Stokes hit a pair of home runs as Nebraska claimed two victories in the UNI-Dome Classic on Saturday, following up a 3-2 win over Western Illinois with an 11-2 victory over Drake.

The senior center fielder combined to hit 3 for 4 in the two games for the Huskers (3-0), with four runs scored, three walks, three RBIs and three stolen bases.

Against Western Illinois, the Huskers led 2-1 in the bottom of the third when Stokes drove Kacyee Hart’s first pitch over the wall in right center to increase Nebraska’s lead to 3-1. The solo shot would prove to be the difference as the Leathernecks scored one more run off starter Nebraska starter Emily Lockman (1-0) in the top of the fifth.

MJ Knighten also homered for the Huskers, hitting a two-run shot in the bottom of the first.

Lockman scattered seven hits and two runs — one earned — over five innings. Cassie McClure held the Leathernecks (0-2) scoreless over the final two innings to earn the save.

The Huskers had 14 hits and scored six runs in the first two innings against Drake. Stokes hit a solo home run in the second, and Knighten homered for the third straight game with a two-run shot in the fifth.

Kaylan Jablonski recorded her first win while giving up one earned run in five innings of work.

McClure finished 2 for 3 with three RBIs for the Huskers, while Laura Barrow was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.

The Huskers finish up play at the tournament with a pair of games early Sunday, facing Wisconsin-Green Bay at 8 a.m. and Saint Louis at 10:15 a.m.
