Here's a transcript from today's show:

Welcome to the Carriker Chronicles, the people’s show, where we check the pulse of Husker nation brought to you by Nebraska Spine Hospital and Nebraska volleyball.

My kids are in bed now, but before they went to bed the kids were going bonkers, we had an impromptu hockey game, all around everyone watching the Nebraska volleyball match versus Illinois.

Now, this Nebraska team. They didn’t look phenomenal the first two matches, alright? They got down 0-2, the second match Illinois clearly looked like they were going to be the better team on this night. But much like this season, if you’ve followed the Nebraska volleyball team throughout this season, and I’ve talked about it before on the show but bear with me for a second. They lost three matches in a row, four out of five, five out of seven… the last time they lost a match was actually to this very same Illinois team. Since then, they have won 12 straight matches.

Coming into tonight, I know they lost a couple of sets tonight, they had won 21 straight consecutive sets. They have not lost a set since November 6th. During this 12-match, now 13-match winning streak up until tonight, in those 40 sets they had won 36 and lost four. They won 90 percent of the sets. Keep in mind, they lost three in a row, four out of five and five out of seven. Since then they have bounced back. To the final four for the fourth straight year, they’re going back to the National Championship match again; you want to talk about heart, resiliency, and toughness? I’ll never forget talking to John Cook in my interview that I did, if you missed it check it out, it went up yesterday morning. He talked about how people thought there wasn’t a whole lot of chance that they would get back to Final Four this year or play for a National Championship. They didn’t have a setter, they had a whole lot of question marks.

Toughness, resiliency, battle-tested ladies and gentlemen. That’s what Nebraska volleyball, that’s what Nebraska sports, and that’s what Nebraskans are all about. I’m pretty freaking pumped. Tune in Saturday night, they’re going to take on the Stanford Cardinal, whose mascot is a tree, can somebody tell me why, they’re the number one seed and they’re going to be favored. What else is new? Tune in after that, check out my gut reaction, hopefully another National Championship. Go Big Red, and always remember to throw the bones!

Thanks again to the Nebraska Spine Hospital. Ladies and gentlemen, when it’s your spine, you do not want to mess around. Experience matters. That’s why you can trust the experts at Nebraska Spine Hospital, the region's only spine specific hospital. They are the best at what they do.
