LINCOLN — Even as Nebraska put a bow on the 2019 recruiting class Wednesday, it made offers to three highly-regarded 2021 quarterbacks.

Brock Vandagriff of Bogart, Georgia, Tyler Buchner of La Jolla, California, and Preston Stone of Dallas all tweeted their offers. All are four-star prospects according to 247Sports and have top programs in pursuit.

The trio join Californian Jake Garcia — who received an NU offer in May — as the only known 2021 quarterbacks to hold Husker offers.

Coach Scott Frost said Wednesday it can be a challenge to recruit quarterbacks in classes immediately following a good one. It happened to him at Oregon with Marcus Mariota and now with Adrian Martinez.

"You're not going to find an Adrian every day," Frost said, "but I love the kids that we're adding, including at that position."

NU quarterbacks coach Mario Verduzco spent part of January visiting Vandagriff along with others, including Dematrius Davis of Houston North Shore and Ian Kipp of Mentor, Ohio.
