Fan Day

Because there was such high demand for Scott Frost's autograph last year, Nebraska decided to limit his line to 250 children for Fan Day.

Nebraska is changing course on its plan for those seeking autographs from Scott Frost during Fan Day.

Initially, only the first 250 members of the JV Team — the Huskers’ official kids club — would have been allowed to get in line for Frost’s autograph. And membership to the JV Team would cost $35.

But in a statement released Thursday, Nebraska officials said they “recognize this was a mistake” and it could “prevent some children from having the opportunity to be a part of Coach Frost’s line.”

Now, membership to the JV Team will be free, and approximately 250 JV Team members will be randomly selected in advance for a spot in Frost’s line. Registration for the JV Team will begin July 8 at 10 a.m.

Additionally, Frost plans to autograph 1,000 photos that will be distributed to the first 1,000 kids at Fan Day who are not a part of Frost’s line.

“It is important to Coach Frost that all children have an equal opportunity to receive his autograph on Fan Day,” according to the statement.

Fan Day will take place Aug. 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Stadium.

All Nebraska players and assistants will be on the field seated along the west sideline. Fans are welcome to get autographs, though they are asked to limit requests to one item per player or coach.
