Jervay Green

Jervay Green averaged more than 23 points a game for Western Nebraska Community College last season.

Nebraska recruit Jervay Green was named a second-team junior college All-American on Monday by the NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee.

Green averaged 23.6 points per game for Western Nebraska Community College this season. He made 54.7% of his field-goal attempts and 39% of 3-pointers. He also averaged 5.7 rebounds.

Green committed to Nebraska and former coach Tim Miles in September, then signed with the Huskers two months later.

He's currently deciding whether to stick with NU after the coaching change.

New Nebraska coach Fred Hoiberg met with Green last week to try and keep him in the fold. "It was great," said Green, who has also received interest from Kansas and Oregon. "I like Coach Hoiberg a lot."

Green is one of three players signed to Nebraska's 2019 recruiting class. Omaha Creighton Prep star Akol Arop reaffirmed his decision after meeting with Hoiberg last week. Mika Adams-Woods reopened his recruitment but is still considering the Huskers.
