Lane Grindle, a broadcaster for the Husker Sports Network, will join the Milwaukee Brewers radio broadcast team on 620WTMJ.
Grindle has spent the last 10 seasons with Nebraska baseball, becoming the play-by-play announcer in 2008 after two years as the pre-/post-game host. He's also served as a pre-game host, sideline reporter and public address announcer for Husker football and hosted the Nebraska basketball television show.
"I can never fully convey what Nebraska has meant to my family and me," Grindle said in a statement posted on Twitter. "The fans, athletes, co-workers and friends have had such a large impact on our lives. All four of our children were born in Lincoln, and it will always feel like home. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you and Go Big Red!"
Grindle, 34, will join a three-man broadcast team in Milwaukee that includes Hall of Famer Bob Uecker. He'll also serve the Brewers' digital and social media platforms.
"We had a deep pool of candidates for this position but Lane was very impressive throughout the process on many levels," said Brewers chief operating officer Rick Schlesinger in a press release. "Lane's play-by-play skills are very strong and he has deep family roots in the Midwest.
"He also demonstrated interest in continuing to build our online, new media content with podcasts, blogs and other features. We know Lane is going to be a great fit for our organization and the Milwaukee community."
Grindle, a native of Hastings, Iowa, graduated from the University of South Dakota in 2004.
