Season-ending injuries have cost Michigan and Indiana valuable football starters for this season.
The Wolverines lost wide receiver Amara Darboh to a foot injury suffered in Saturday’s scrimmage. The sophomore didn’t catch a pass last season, but was in line for heavy playing time. Darboh’s size — 6-foot-2, 212 pounds — was something Michigan needed considering that many other returning pass catchers are under 6-foot.
Indiana also is down a man because of a foot injury. Guard Dan Feeney, a freshman All-American last season, required surgery after a teammate fell on him in practice.
The 6-4, 303-pound Feeney didn’t allow a sack last season in 935 snaps. He was one of four returning starters in the offensive line for IU.
