An actor who portrayed a crafty gentleman’s gentleman and an actress who played an unusual princess won top honors this week at the Omaha Community Playhouse Awards Night.

The event is held each year after the end of the Playhouse season to recognize excellence in acting, backstage efforts and other aspects of theater.

Steve Krambeck stars as Francis in “One Man, Two Guvnors,” at the Omaha Community Playhouse from Friday through May 5.

The Fonda McGuire Award, given to the man and woman who turned in the best performances of the season, went to Steve Krambeck, who played Francis in “One Man, Two Guvnors,” and Mackenzie Dehmer, who was Fiona in “Shrek the Musical.”

Other honors included the Mary Peckham Award for a memorable performance in a feature role, which went to Dehmer, Thomas Gjere, James Verderamo and Angela Jenson Frey for “The Bridges of Madison County,” Tony Schik for “Of Mice and Men,” and Julie Fitzgerald Ryan for “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” and the Outstanding Youth Award, going to Dominic Torres for “Curious Incident” and Sasha Denenberg for “Fun Home.”

Mike Palmreuter won the Charles Jones Award, given to recognize excellence in performance at the discretion of artistic director Kimberly Faith Hickman. Palmreuter had major roles in three shows at the Playhouse this season: “Curious Incident,” “The Bridges of Madison County” and “Ragtime.”
