Jack Black and Kyle Gass will bring their jams (and some laughs) to Pinewood Bowl this summer.

Their music comedy duo, Tenacious D, will play Lincoln on July 28.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via Ticketmaster.

Tenacious D has released four albums and starred in one film, the 2006 movie “Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny.” The group got its start when Black and Gass were members of the same comedy troupe, and they later had their own HBO series.

A six-episode miniseries, “Tenacious D: Post-Apocalypto,” debuted on YouTube last year and was followed by a new album of the same name.

Though the pair are talented — they won a Grammy in 2014 — the joke is they’re a pair of goofball slobs. In their various releases, they imagine themselves to be the best rock ’n’ roll band of all time, but instead of writing the best rock song in the world, they can only write a tribute.

Tenacious D predates Black’s film career, which includes hits such as “Jumanji” and “School of Rock,” among numerous others. Gass has also appeared in numerous films and series including “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Elf” and “2 Broke Girls.”
