Sara Bertuldo of Millions of Boys performs at Maha Music Festival.

The Maha Music Festival audience has grown considerably since the first band took the stage. As Millions of Boys kicked open the main stage, the lawn was quite full of those standing and others sprawled out on blankets.

With their poppy punk and sorta cute songs, Millions of Boys are a popular Omaha band, but I think they have potential to do a lot more than bum around all the same local venues.

One of my favorite songs, “Dead Girls,” was one of the best of the set.

HERS followed with a set that was opened by one of the bands made up of young girls from Omaha rock camp Omaha Girls Rock. It was pretty cool that the girls got to play the show even if they’re not perfect. But who cares?

HERS came on after two songs and played some rock made moody by the addition of clarinet and its slow pace.

For the set’s last song, all the Omaha Girls Rock campers in attendance hopped onstage to sing the official camp song. It was a pretty cool (and cute) moment for them.
