Film Streams will hold another event in its Feature series wherein a famed filmmaker sits down for a conversation with director Alexander Payne.

This year, it’s Academy Award-nominated actor Paul Giamatti reuniting with Payne, a member of Film Streams’ board. The pair worked together on the film “Sideways.”

Feature VIII will take place at 7 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Holland Performing Arts Center.

The event will feature a conversation between the pair, as well as a post-party celebration. Feature VIII is a fundraiser for the nonprofit Film Streams, which operates the Ruth Sokolof and Dundee Theaters. The last event raised more than $360,000.

Giamatti currently stars in Showtime’s “Billions,” which was recently renewed for a fifth season. His other famed roles include Harvey Pekar in “American Splendor,” Theophilus Freeman in “12 Years a Slave,” Jerry Heller in “Straight Outta Compton” and Joe Gould in “Cinderella Man,” which earned him an Oscar nomination.

In “Sideways,” Giamatti portrayed Miles, an English teacher and unsuccessful writer taking an old friend on a pre-wedding trip through wine country. The film was nominated for five Academy Awards, and Payne and writing partner Jim Taylor won the Oscar for best adapted screenplay.

Giamatti’s performance was praised, and he was nominated for Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards.

Film Streams’ Feature series began in 2008 when Payne sat down with Laura Dern. Other guests have included Julianne Moore, Jane Fonda, David O. Russell, Steven Soderbergh and Debra Winger.

Tickets go on sale to Film Streams members on June 21 and to the general public on June 26.
