The downtown location of Local Beer, Patio and Kitchen is now closed.
Charlie Yin, co-owner of 88 Management Group, which runs the Local locations, said the bar and restaurant, at 902 Dodge St., has seen sales declines over the past year due to ongoing construction in the area.
“Our Downtown location endured a year of heavy construction as well as MUD water main breaks which led to some issues that proved hard to overcome,” the bar posted on its Facebook page.
Yin said the construction projects have led to decreased visibility for the bar, even impacting potential business from concertgoers flooding out of the nearby CHI Health Center.
The restaurant group has plans to open a new Local location in west Omaha, with the exact location to be announced at a later date, Yin said.
“We’re replicating everything,” he said. “Same designers out there. Same number of taps. Just trying to recreate the same look and feel of the original.”
The downtown Local location first opened in 2015. Since then, Locals have opened in Millard, Gretna and Lincoln.
