Snow Leopard Wit will hit shelves this Friday. Proceeds from the beer will support snow leopard conservation efforts in Mongolia.

The final beer in the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium’s partnership with Zipline Brewing Co. will hit stores and tasting rooms Friday.

It’s called Snow Leopard Wit. Proceeds from the limited-run beer will support conservation work with snow leopards in Mongolia.

The beer is the fourth and final installment in the Zoo Brew Series.

“Working with Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium this past year has been incredibly rewarding,” said Tom Wilmoth, co-founder of Zipline Brewing Co. “It has given us the opportunity to increase awareness of the fragility of our ecosystem and to encourage others to help these endangered species.”

Snow Leopard Wit is a wheat beer using traditional ingredients such as bitter orange peel, chamomile and coriander. Funds from the sales will help develop protected areas for snow leopards with the aim of reducing poaching, mining and unsustainable land development.

“It’s really special to complete the Zoo Brew Series by highlighting the snow leopard, not only because the big cat is part of Asian Highlands opening in May, but because this beautiful and elusive species needs our help,” said Dr. Cheryl Morris, vice president of conservation for the zoo.

The beer will be available for purchase at Zipline taprooms and several area retailers later this week. Launch parties will be held Friday from 5 p.m. until close at all three Zipline taprooms.
