Brix wine dinner focuses on Chateau Ste. Michelle

The Village Pointe location of Brix is having a wine dinner focused on a Washington-based winery.

Chateau Ste. Michelle winery’s head winemaker Bob Bertheau will host the four-course dinner with wine pairings. The winery plays host to just a few dinners around the country each year.

The dinner is slated for June 1 and is $75 a person before tax and tip. Seating is limited, and the dinner takes place at the Brix Village Pointe event center.

Ameristar to serve free meal to veterans

Ameristar Casino Hotel is offering veterans and service personnel a free meal on Memorial Day.

The Council Bluffs casino will serve the meal at its Heritage Buffet, which is open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Veterans must present a valid military ID for the meal, which is limited to one per person. Alcohol is not included, and the special is not valid with any other offers.

Brewsky’s offers discount for teachers

Teachers, too, can enjoy a special: During the week of May 20, teachers can get 10 percent off their tab at Brewsky’s.

The special is good at all locations and continues through May 29.
