Lizz Wright first got acclaim at age 22 when she performed as a vocalist with a touring concert tribute to Billie Holiday.

Her latest single, “Lean In,” was on former President Barack Obama’s 2016 Summer Playlist.

She will appear at the Holland Center, 1200 Douglas St., on Thursday as the final offering in this season’s Omaha Performing Arts Jazz Series.

The New York Times said her voice is “a smooth, dark alto possessed of qualities you might associate with barrel-aged bourbon or butter-soft leather.”

Wright has released five albums, the first of which was “Salt,” on the Verve label, which hit the market when she was 23. It topped the Billboard contemporary jazz charts.

Tickets to the 7:30 p.m. program in the Kiewit Concert Hall range from $15 to $35 and are available at ticketomaha.com or 402-345-0606.
